Chairman and CEO
Joseph Paresi is the Chairman and CEO of IDSS and brings over thirty-seven years of executive management experience in high technology security systems. Paresi founded IDSS in 2012 with an initial focus on developing systems for airport checkpoints that would allow all passengers to leave their electronics and liquids in their bag, while simultaneously automating the detection of explosives and weapons. Since then, Paresi and the IDSS team have developed and patented new solutions for a broad spectrum of security applications and requirements. In prior positions, Paresi was the co-founder and Executive Vice President of L-1 Identity Solutions (sold to Safran Morpho in 2011 for $1.6B), part of the founding team and Corporate Vice President of Product Development of L-3 Communications. Paresi founded and served as President of L-3 Security & Detection Systems, growing it from start-up to 1000 employees with $377M in sales. At L-3, Paresi developed the eXaminer 3DX 6000 EDS and Millimeterwave Body Scanners. Prior to his time at L-3, Paresi was Corporate Director of Technology for Lockheed Martin. He continues to be an advisor to security companies and investment banks. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering, a Program Management Degree from the Defense Systems Management College, an MBA in Finance and is Top Secret/Special Compartmental Information eligible from the Department of National Intelligence.
